A Swindon man who attended Bradon Forest School in Purton and Swindon College has been made vice-president of Sales and Marketing (Worldwide Branding and Campaigns) for the Intel Corporation, which has its European headquarters in Pipers Way.

Donald J. MacDonald, 41, who joined the company in Swindon in 1987, is now responsible for Intel's worldwide branding and marketing and communication campaigns, operating out of the company's worldwide headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

Previously, Mr MacDonald was director of marketing for the Mobile Platforms Group, responsible for driving growth in the notebook computing segment and for defining and executing the marketing plan for Intel Centrino Mobile Technol-ogy.

Mr MacDonald spent nine years working at Pipers Way before moving across the Pond.

He has also served as director of marketing for Intel Japan, responsible for marketing Intel Architecture products.
