STEVE White's Chippenham Town will be back in action at Hardenhuish for the first time in three weeks on Saturday.

Hampshire club Havant and Waterlooville will provide the Bluebirds with a stern test as they have their sights set on a top 13 finish.

The club was formed in June 1998 when Waterlooville Football Club amalgamated with Havant Town Football Club.

They were promoted to Dr Martens Premier Division in 1999/2000 and last season put together a consistent campaign to finish just below Chippenham in eighth place.

Going into last weekend they had picked up eight wins and seven draws from their 22 league matches and were only six points off fourth placed Stafford Rangers.

Havant are now being managed by non-league legend Dave Leworthy following their decision to axe Mick Jenkins and Liam Daish at the start of the month.

Leworthy has already made a move in the transfer market by tying up the loan signing of experienced Woking defender Jamie Campbell.

The 31-year-old started as a trainee at Luton Town a year before having loan spells at Mansfield Town and Cambridge United who he eventually signed for in August 1997.

He moved from Cambridge to Brighton in June 1999 and arrived at Woking last February after two years at Exeter City and another at Stevenage Borough.

Havant's top scorer is former Bournemouth player Chukki Eribenne with 12 goals but James Taylor is close behind on ten and Dave Town, who scored against Chippenham at Westleigh Park this season, has seven.

That match took place in early December when the two sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Chippenham had started reasonably well but it was Havant who took the lead on 31 minutes against the run of play.

Taylor laid the ball to Town who rifled his shot in off the crossbar from 25 yards.

But Chippenham deservedly equalised two minutes into first half stoppage time.

Sam Allison broke quickly from defence and combined with Adie Mings to set Nathan Edwards free on the left.

He swung a left-footed cross into the area and Charlie Griffin arrived at the far post to head home.

In the home league match with Havant last season Chippenham triumphed 3-1 thanks to two goals from Martin Paul and one from Charlie Griffin in front of a crowd of 661.

Havant are currently struggling with injuries with both Eribenne and ex-Swindon Town man Bobby Howe currently sidelined.

But James Taylor and Neil Champion have recently returned from injuries to improve their options.
