Young musicians were puffed out after a brass workshop on Sunday, which blew the audience away at Marden House.

Calne pupils took part in a workshop at St Dunstan School in William Street held by Bournemouth Symphonic Brass.

The brass quintet is a fun and whacky group made up of members of the Bournemouth Symphonic Orchestra brass section.

On Sunday the quintet worked with 20 children, some of whom do not play instruments, to put together a short performance.

In the afternoon the quintet, which is made up of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba, gave a concert in Marden House. The children also performed.

The concert kicked off this year's season of performances at the well-known music venue in Calne.

On Sunday afternoon the brass group performed a contemporary fanfare and 19th century brass music

The next concert will be held on February 8 when saxophonist and guitarist Gerald McCrystal and Craig Ogden perform. A saxophone workshop will be held after the concert.
