PLAISTER AUTOS WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: GARY Skidmore could not hide his relief on Saturday after his Biddestone side returned to winning ways with a 3-0 Premier Division win at home to Pewsey Vale.

After an impressive start to the season that saw them as high as second in the table in November, Biddestone had gone the last six matches without a win.

Saturday's long awaited three points has moved them back up to third place in the Wiltshire League and Skidmore is hoping their dismal run is behind them.

He said: "I am very, very relieved. It is very nice to get back to winning ways at last.

"The result probably flattered us a bit but we never looked in danger of not winning the match.

"Pewsey certainly tried very hard but they lack a cutting edge up front and that allowed us to attack more freely without worrying about conceding."

James Tindall, who has played most of the season in the centre of midfield, was given a start on the right wing on Saturday and he repaid his manager's faith with a double strike to add to Tim Tasker's penalty.

"I have been wanting to play Tindall on the right for a long time," said Skidmore." At last I got the chance on Saturday and he was outstanding for us.

"Every team in every league in football has a bad spell and we have to make sure that ours is in the past now.

"We still have to take it one game at a time and if we do get a chance to go up next season then brilliant, but let us just concentrate on the football."

Biddestone travel to Corsham Town Reserves tomorrow.

Cricklade Town kept tabs on the leaders with a 3-2 win over Devizes Town Reserves.

Junior Division One leaders Trowbridge Town ran out 4-1 winners against Calne Town Reserves, with goals from Matt Minnus (2), Gavin Eyre and Booker Woodford.

Two goals from Tony Vizard and one from James Higgs and Gareth Thompson enabled Sherston to run out 4-3 winners over Cricklade Town Reserves.

Bromham got back on the winning path with a 4-2 success at Aldbourne Luke Rudman, Danny Powell, Nathan West and Lee Davis on the scoresheet.

With New College out of action in Junior Two, Trax moved to within two points of the leaders following their 2-1 win over West Swindon.

Minety slipped up at home to Clarendon and Tidworth, losing 2-1.

Warminster Town crashed out of the Corsham Print Senior Cup when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Purton Reserves.

Steve Avenall and Paul Gillett netted minutes before the break to give the visitors an interval lead and Simon Pugh added a third midway through the second half.

Purton boss Ian Restell was happy with the win but said: "It wasn't a great performance from the side but it was not a very good surface due to the recent rain.

"I thought the man of the match was referee Pete Lowe, who I thought was excellent."
