WAR veteran Harold Cruse has proved a popular patient at Salisbury District Hospital.
The 90-year-old, from Shrewton, who had a right hip replacement operation earlier this month, was in the Royal Army Medical Corps during the war and took part in the D-Day landings.
After chatting with consultant orthopaedic surgeon Graham Rushforth, he was encouraged to wear his war medals and beret and has proudly been displaying them to other patients on Amesbury ward ever since.
