TOMMY SAUNDERS is throwing caution to the wind in a bid to halt Swindon Supermarine's slide down the Dr Martens Western Division table.

Six defeats in seven league games since the manager's arrival in January have seen Marine fall from the top half of the table to the bottom five.

Rock-bottom Cinderford are the visitors to Hunts Copse this evening and Saunders is set to unleash a three-pronged attack in an attempt to gain the second win of his reign.

Jimmy Carter, Justin Miller and Dave Toomey are all set to start, with Alan

Young a fourth attacking option waiting on the bench.

Nathan Edwards is doubtful as he continues to struggle with a back strain but Devizes defender Andy Coombes will be drafted in to offer Saunders added cover.

"It's a game we're looking to win after a disappointing run," said Saunders.

"We've played most of the top sides now and have nine games left. I'll be looking to win four of those.

"Cinderford are bottom but these games are sometimes the most difficult at this stage of the season because they will be fighting for their lives."

Highworth boss John Fisher could add to Marine's woes by pinching defensive linchpin Steve Davies. Fisher has submitted seven days notice of approach for the centre half ahead of the club's Hellenic Premier Division trip to Tuffley.

Highworth desperately need three points to keep their title hopes alive following the 2-1 loss at Shortwood on Saturday but Fisher has availability problems again.

Goalkeepers Elliot Jackson (work) and Sean Purcell (suspended) are out, leaving Mark Turner to do a turn between the sticks.

Matty Saye also has work commitments but Paul Hunt could make a temporary return from Weston to bolster Highworth's attacking options while Nick McRae and Andy Wollen are also back in contention.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Fairford travel to lowly Gloucester United.
