Demolition work is progressing well at the former Princess Mar-garet Hospital, according to the developers.
Bloor Homes, the owner of the 24-acre site in Okus Road, plans to create a range of homes ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom houses.
Bulldozers are tearing down areas including the former maternity unit and the nurses' quarters. A ramp leading up into the higher parts of the hospital building is expected to be built in early April to allow diggers access to the main structure.
Lorraine Palmer, regional sales manager for Bloor Homes Swindon, said: "We're pleased with the progress at the PMH site and look forward to releasing the homes for sale early next year."
On February 24, council planners deferred an application to build 350 homes on land including the former Princess Margaret Hospital, citing concerns about density.
