Ethical consumers are celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight in north Wiltshire, with 2004 marking the 10th birthday of Fairtrade. A number of Fairtrade events will be held over the next two weeks, giving people opportunities to try out many of the 180 products carrying the Fairtrade mark.
On Sunday a Fairtrade Poetry Competition will be held at St. Cyriac's Church in Lacock at 12.30pm.
On Wednesday a Fairtrade Tasting session will be held at the Co-op in Chippenham from 1pm to 4pm.
On March 12 a Fairtrade coffee morning with an auction in aid of Comic Relief will be held at the district council offices in Chippenham from 10am to 4pm.
Fairtrade is an independent consumer label, awarded by the Fairtrade Foundation, to guarantee producers in developing countries a fair deal.
Fairtrade Fortnight from March 1 to 14 is an annual two-week campaign.
