HARLEQUINS did not start too well as FA Vase semi-finalists and promotion favourites Winchester City pressed from the off.

James Domm kept out a number of fine efforts and his defenders also helped when he was beaten.

Mark Daubney and Jamie Boswell cleared off the line when Andy Forbes and Ian Mancey got through and Domm made two superb saves all in the opening 30 minutes.

It was only a matter of time before the home side scored and a goal finally arrived on 36 minutes with Forbes tapping in after a deflection.

City doubled their lead four minutes later with Gary Green scoring after a good team movement.

The second half was nearly all Winchester, but Domm and his defenders kept them out with some terrific defending.

However in the 70th minute Ian Mancey finished off a fluent move to make it 3-0.

Bemerton threw on their subs but simply couldn't find a way through, although Neil Cole had a good chance which was saved.
