Ref. 29377-17COLLEGE JOBS EXCLUSIVE: NICOLA Daucey, a tutor based at the Regent Circus campus, says that college staff are owed an apology.
While she believes her own position is secure, Nicola, who teaches under 16 year olds, fears for her colleagues.
The 25-year-old, of Headlands Grove, Stratton, said: "The area I work in actually fits in very well with the new policy towards teaching but I am very worried for an awful lot of my colleagues.
"I felt that the meeting was very unsympathetic, and would have liked an apology for the fact that some people will lose their jobs.
"I think some people have an idea that their jobs are at risk, and there are lots of rumours going round.
"There had been concerns that these new teaching methods would lead to jobs going."
Nicola came to work at the college in August last year after completing her A-levels there.
She teaches youngsters between 14 and 16 who have been excluded from mainstream school.
The youngsters can take GCSEs or vocational courses.
Among the subjects Nicola teaches are music and citizenship.
She said: "I enjoyed my time studying here so much that I came to work here.
"The lecturers were terrific."
