A play depicting the experience of fleeing Nazis in the aftermath of the Second World War will be holding its opening night in Calne.

The Watermill Theatre Touring Productions will return to Calne for one night to perform Mr & Mrs Schultz.

The story explores the tale of top-ranking Nazi officials who escaped to safe houses in Argentina before eventually settling there with new identities.

As the days pass for Mr and Mrs Schulz their disturbing story begins to unfold and the past tightens its grip.

Calne's Community Development Officer Mark Wilkins said tickets should be bought in advance to avoid disappointment.

"This is a professional theatre, delivered in comfortable local surroundings at a reasonable price," he said.

The performance takes place in the Town Hall at 7.30pm on April 6.

Tickets cost £7 for adults and £6 concessions and are on sale at the Visitor and Community Information Centre.

The theatre is internationally renowned for its touring show and won the 2001 TMA Best Musical Award.
