Ref. 12357/2Talented horse-loving sisters Cathy Groves and Georgie Welch have created a book together about their mother's riding school in Heddington Wick.
The book is in honour of their mother, Isabella Gage, who runs the Children's Riding School.
Mrs Groves, 44, wrote the book, Wilfred the little white horse of Wiltshire in 2001.
Her sister, who is a sculptor, did the illustrations for the book.
The book follows the story of Wilfred, Mrs Grove's first pony, and mentions many local landmarks.
"I wrote it during the foot and mouth outbreak when we were largely confined to the house," said Mrs Groves. "I spoke to my mother regularly and she told me all the things that were happening. I began writing them down.
"My niece wrote a poem which we put on the back page. It is a real family effort."
Part of the funds raised by the sale of the book will be donated to the Friends of St Peter's Church. The book is on sale at the riding school, (01380) 850182, and at Quemerford post office.
