WALCOTT opened the scoring in the first five minutes after a defensive debacle in front of the home sides line.

The Malmesbury defence seemed to wait for each other to tackle the ball carrier, and of course he got through.

Kevin Tillotson replied with a penalty goal to make the score 3-5 to the visitors, who then went further ahead with an individual break by their outside centre.

He ran over 50 metres down field to score under the posts, and a straightforward conversion gave the visitors a seven point lead.

Fifteen minutes before half time, Huw Jones intercepted a Walcott pass and scored under the posts. Tillotson added the conversion to make the half- time score 12-10 to Walcott 12.

Walcott went further ahead five minutes into the second half with a breakaway, resulting in an unconverted try.

Malmesbury replied with a period of strong forward play which finally resulted in a try for Adam Twidell, which again went unconverted.

The score remained at 17 points to 15 in favour of the visitors until the last ten minutes. They then scored two swift tries from breakaway moves.
