I AM delighted that HRH The Prince of Wales is to visit Marlborough as part of our 2004 celebrations.
As a direct result of his visit you report that the railings in the High Street are to be repaired and repainted.
Some of us have been banging on about the disgraceful state of these railings for years, but to no avail.
Could we now please have a schedule of future royal visits, to take place in sequence, starting with one to London Road, moving on at two- year intervals to George Lane, The Parade, New Road and so on.
Within ten years we shall be as spick and span as Devizes.
