AS a lifelong resident of Pewsey it is sad to note that certain people are once again trying to blight this lovely village with a totally impractical development.

I refer to what once was well-kept allotment gardens atop a prominent bank at the beginning of Ball Road.

This land now for sale has had previous planning applications successfully turned down by the adjacent residents to this land who realised what a mistake it would be to ruin a part of Pewsey that has been undisturbed for centuries.

What makes it all the more intolerable is the fact that one of those responsible has the gall to produce an illustrated map of Pewsey's parish boundary and broadcast to all and sundry about her achievement and then turn around and try to spoil a part of the village's heritage itself.

Vehicular access to the site is near impossible, and would cause great annoyance, not to mention danger, to vehicles using Ball Road and nearby residents themselves. It would succeed in destroying the very essence of what Pewsey is about, its rich countryside heritage.

Don't let this beautiful historical village turn into a faceless urban sprawl. Save it now before it is too late, because once it is gone, it is gone forever.
