A PLACE in the Dorset & Wilts 1st XV Vase final is at stake at Greenbridge Road tomorrow as Swindon host Corsham in an intriguing last-four clash.

The last time the two sides met in a competitive match was during Swindon's promotion-winning season of 1999-2000 when both were competing for the top spot.

This time at stake is a final contest against either North Dorset and Trowbridge, which is scheduled to take place at Devizes on Saturday, March 27.

Swindon probably start favourites, but after an impressive victory at Bradford on Avon in last weekend's quarter-final, Corsham are definitely not to be underestimated.

Injury and unavailability means Swindon lose five first team regulars for the match.

But they still field an impressive starting line-up, with Nick Warren and Mark Scarrott moving into the second row and James King starting at No 8.

An injury to scrum-half Jimmer Courtney sees youth team captain Connal Knott making his debut.

Skipper Paul Wakefield regains his place with the absence of Stuart Cock, and Robin Haxton replaces Mathieu Seynaeve on the wing.

Corsham also have a number of key players either injured or unavailable.

A question mark hangs over prolific points scorer Denzil Brockhurst. Despite scoring 16 of his side's points in the 21-12 win over Bradford, he suffered another knock on a rib injury and is rated doubtful.

Teenage scrum-half Chris Jones, meanwhile, moves into the squad after a number of encouraging games for the second string.

SWINDON Under 17s face Cleve in a top-of-the-table RFU South West Merit encounter on Sunday.

The Bristol outfit boast four England caps in their ranks, but the Swindon side are in form after three successive victories.
