SWINDON: A van containing thousands of pounds worth of construction equipment has been stolen in Highworth. The white long wheelbase Ford Transit, registration number G913 UVL, was stolen from land to the rear of garages near Home Farm at some time between 9pm on Thursday and 7.30am yesterday. The van is owned by a local contractor. It contained various pieces of equipment, worth about £4,000. The items include a VE2500 generator, angle grinders and many tools bearing the Challenge brand mark. Anybody with information is asked to call police on 01793 528111.
