A TALENTED Trowbridge musician is to play in front of a huge crowd outside the Royal Crescent at the opening of the Bath International Music Festival tonight.
Danielle Jalowiecka, 17, was picked as the Bath Young Musician of the Year in November and has now been asked to play her recorder with the Bath Philharmonia Orchestra at the grand opening, which is expected to be attended by thousands of people.
She said: "My family and friends will be there and I'm really looking forward to it, although I am a little nervous."
Danielle was chosen ahead of four other finalists to be the Bath Young Musician of the Year after impressing the judges at the Mid-Somerset Festival. The St Augustine's Catholic College pupil, who is currently studying for her A-levels, also plays the violin, piano and flute and sings.
Richard O'Mahony, a music teacher at St Augustine's, said: "She has exceptional talent and she really enjoys performing."
