Division Three of the Swindon EVening Cricket League is fast becoming a two-horse race after Swindon Litten Tree suffered their second loss of the season to fellow leaders Motorola.

Kevin Crook made a fine 72 as the Tree posted 172-1.

However, it was Motorola's Jamal Khan who stole the show with an unbeaten 77 as they reached 173-6 to remain undefeated this year.

United Churches eased their worries with a six-run win against Ashbury.

The Churches made 112-8 as Robin New took 3-35. But despite New making an excellent 49 not out, Ashbury could not quite make the target and finished on 106-5.

It was the Allen family show at Purton as Danny hit 35 and brother Gavin 36, helped by Neil on 21, as Purton posted 142-6.

Sevenfields could only manage 130-5 in response, R Morton not out with 46 as Joe Dunn took 4-24.

Wroughton Wranglers head Division Two after their sixth win of the season at Nationwide.

Hendy Alleyne made an excellent unbeaten 60 as the Wranglers posted 111-3.

In reply, Nationwide hit 67 without loss off 11 overs, but then got bogged down. With nine balls to go and 12 to win, the finish became exciting.

However, they failed and ended up on 107-5.

Nomads kept up the chase with a five-run win over Chameleon.

Sherratt hit 47 and Preddy was 44 not out as Nomads made 141-5.

Kumar made a fighting 38 before being run out and Maggs made 33 as Chameleon made 136-6, Biggs taking 3-28 for Nomads.

Castrol continued their winning ways in Division One with an 18-run victory over Lydiard Millicant.

A fine 47 from Mark Williamson and 43 from Arran Dickinson helped Castrol to 120-5.

Lydiard ended on 102-8.

Winterbourne Bassett made 129-5 against Swindon Mortgages with Andy Dodson scoring 29.

Chris Trewhella took 3-28 in a fine spell for the Mortgages and Kevin Flay was undefeated on 47 as they comfortably reached 133-4 in reply.

Phoenix are top of Division Four with four wins out of four.

Derek Smith took 3-17 as they strangled L&K Skips to 106-6.

In reply, they eased past the total on 112-2, thanks to Sean Smith's 43 and Dan King's unbeaten 27.

Intel bowled out Nine Elms for 69 then made 70-5 in reply to keep in touch with the leaders.

S Shield took 3-22 as Innogy bowled out Anch for 59.

Innogy easily made their target of 60 for the loss of seven wickets.
