CHIPPENHAM Town fans are to get the chance to grill the club's directors and management about their plans for the future.

The club have called an open forum session on July 14 in a bid to improve communication with supporters, who have often complained of being kept in the dark.

The meeting, which is open to all, will see the directors, manager Steve White and assistant Ron Needham answer questions about the club's affairs, both on and off the field.

Secretary Chris Blake said: "In bygone days when we were a members club we used to have an annual meeting, but we are a now a PLC we don't have the same system.

"We thought it would be a good idea because the fans say that communication between them and the club is not what it was before. We can use this meeting to tell them what the board are doing.

"I'm sure there will be quite a few questions about last year and the future. If the question is asked and we don't want to answer it we won't have to, but our desire is to be honest with them. The meeting, which takes place at 7.30pm in the clubhouse, will also see the unveiling of Chippenham Town's new strip.

Supporters now have until Wednesday to buy their season tickets at the cheapest price.

The initial deal represents a saving of 20 per cent on match day admission charges, but tickets purchased after June 30 will still equal a 10 per cent reduction.

Until Wednesday an adult season ticket costs £118, while senior citizens pay £67 and juniors £20.

Blake admitted sales were slow, but was not unduly worried.

He said: "It was unfortunate that we missed one additional home game that people could buy them at.

"Over all we don't sell a huge number of season tickets ahead of the season start. The more traditional fans tend to buy theirs at the start of the season.

"We've sold a lot of senior citizen tickets and the junior ones are very good value."

Season tickets for the 200405 season can be obtained by writing to Chris Blake at 28 Sadlers Mead, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 3PB. Cheques should be made payable to Chippenham Town Football Club Limited.
