FINAL preparations are in hand for a family fun day at the Walcot Dome raising cash to buy sports equipment for local youngsters to use on Buckhurst Field.
It is hoped the event on July 3 will bring in enough money to buy five-a-side football gear as well as other equipment to use on the field, which is due to be revamped soon.
The fun starts at noon and the programme features a host of treats, including a dog agility display, a five-a-side football tournament, a games marquee and a karate exhibition.
Local street wardens will also volunteer for a soaking when they take a turn in the stocks.
As well as the traditional stalls and sideshows, a car boot sale is being held.
