Ref. 71797-11PIZZA manager Nick Onslow is hoping for a slice of the action in a world record attempt for the furthest food delivery.

Nick, manager of Domino's Pizza in Old Town, is one of 10 managers from across the country hoping to be chosen to trek 11,000 miles to deliver a pizza.

The lucky Domino's representative will be selected after results from an online poll have been collated.

If 27-year-old Nick is fortunate enough to win, he will travel to Ramsay Street, the set of Australian soap opera Neighbours.

Having journeyed for almost 24 hours, the pizza will then be presented to a star from the show.

The existing world record for the furthest food delivery stands at 6,861 miles, so Nick thinks it will be a tough challenge.

He said: "I'm not sure yet exactly how will be done but I want to be the man for the job.

"It'll be a tough, adventurous challenge and it will be amazing once you get to Australia.

"I would like to do it for Domino's and it would be a great achievement.

"It would just be overwhelming to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.

"So far in my pizza career, the strangest delivery I've ever made is to an elderly man who always requested a bottle of brandy with his pizzas."

Nick, who lives in Abbey Meads, has worked for Domino's Pizza for 11 years and says he would relish the chance to fly to Australia.

The furthest he has ever travelled is an eight-hour flight to Orlando.

The challenge is set to take place in September and Domino's is hoping to raise cash for the Make A Wish Foundation at the same time.

The finalists who raise the most cash for charity will be given bonus points by head office in the online poll.

At the Old Town branch in the High Street, Nick has made every Wednesday a Make A Wish day and for each pizza sold, gives £1 to the children's charity.

He will also do a sponsored walk up Mount Snowdon next week to raise money for Make A Wish.

He hopes to find out if he has been successful in the next two weeks.

Nick is urging Swindonians to get behind him and show their support in the online poll.
