MARK Hodkinson is searching for a goal scorer after his Bradford Town side continued their disappointing start to the season with a 0-0 draw at home to Warminster.

The draw follows a 2-1 defeat at AFC Stratton and the Bradford boss believes his side, last season's top scorers, is lacking firepower.

Last season's prolific marksman Tom Pang was unavailable for both games but even when he returns Hodkinson believes he needs to sign another striker.

He said: "The lads who have filled in have done well but at this level they are not natural goal scorers.

"Losing Tom was a blow but we can't rely solely on him to fire us up the league. I feel we need someone to share the burden with him.

"At the moment I am actively searching to bring someone in but it is not easy as a lot of other managers are doing the same thing."

Newcomers to the Premier division New College caused an upset beating last season's runners up AFC Stratton 2-1 last night.

Stuart Bellinger opened the scoring for the Academy with Scott lane adding a second from the spot midway through the second half.

Stratton pulled a goal back five minutes later Jimmy Wright converting a penalty and went in search of an equaliser but the home defence held out.

Chiseldon Castrol led Cricklade 2-0 with goals from Paul Burchell and Gary Donnelly well into the second half but a grandstand finish from the visitors saw them score four times through Stuart Cole, Matt Chamberlain, Ian Ross and Ben Carter to run out 4-2 winners.

Purton Res were beaten

1-0 at home by Malmesbury Vics, Ed Wilkins intercepting a bad back pass from Ben Jarrett early in the game.

Pewsey Vale proved too strong on the night for Aldbourne chalking up a 4-1 victory.

In an entertaining game in Junior 1 Wroughton beat Ferndale Rodbourne 1-0 thanks to a goal in the last five minutes from Dave Webb.
