Perhaps Derek Austin (letters, September 30) should start a petition in support of turning Coate Water Country Park into a town park if he is so convinced about the virtues of the proposal.
I know a handful of landowners at Coate who would rush to sign up. They stand to make a small fortune out of the deal.
