THE Wheatsheaf Cabin Crew came through a stern test at home to Overton 36-15, in spite of being locked at 0-0 at half-time on a blustery day, which made kicking difficult.
The visitors broke the deadlock, capitalising on sloppy tackling to open the scoring.
But from then on, the Wheats took control.
With the wind at their backs, they comfortably absorbed the pressure.
Dean Lewis slipped free and scored twice.
Jason Findlay claimed the next Wheats try, surprising Overton with an athletic sprint from the halfway line.
Jez Cock made his mark, scoring a brace and Fergusson rounded off the convincing victory with a superb opportunist try, which he also converted.
The Wheats have been drawn away to Warminster I in the first round of the Dorset and Wilts Vase.
The club is currently looking to recruit props. For more information, contact Rich Knight on 01722 338711.
