ROGER Waymouth has stepped down as director of finance and resources at the Kennet and North Wiltshire Primary Care Trust.
Mr Waymouth had been on leave following the conclusion of an investigation by the Audit Commission into why the trust unexpectedly overspent by £2million in 2003/04.
In a paper to the September board meeting of the trust it was announced that Mr Waymouth, 50, had left the trust.
The Audit Commission was called in to find out why a £2million overspend occurred.
The commission uncovered a lack of monitoring which meant managers had no idea how much they had spent on health services. The investigation found the budget was not loaded on to the trust's financial system until nine months into the year. An action plan to address the 31 recommendations the commission made to improve financial control has now been put in place.
