BIDDESTONE were denied a point by their own crossbar against high flying Dawlish on Saturday. Right on full time defender Adam Gainey cracked a shot against the woodwork, which would have capped an excellent second half effort from the home side.

The visitors took the lead in the first minute through Mark Griffiths, but had to work hard as Biddestone came forward in the second.

Dawlish doubled their lead on 57 minutes when Adam Butterworth hit a fantastic overhead kick into the top corner. Biddestone came forward with wave after wave of attack and 17-year-old winger Luke Gullick scored his first Screwfix goal after midfielder Dan Charman was fouled in the box on 70 minutes and the youngster slammed home the spot kick.

The manager thinks that his side have finally found their feet. He said: "We have played most of the top clubs in this league and are vastly improving with each game."

Biddestone's next game is against Elmore away in the Screwfix league.
