PENSIONERS will still get their flu jabs, in spite of yesterday's decision to ban a major supplier of the vaccine.
Oxford-based Chiron has had its licence to manufacturer Fluvirin suspended for three months.
Swindon health chiefs have promised that all those needing the jab would get it but they may have to wait.
The decision by the Medicines and Health products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) follows the announcement in August that 50m flu vaccines were contaminated in Liverpool.
Last week we reported that three of Swindon's 31 surgeries use the drug.
Sally Hendry of Swindon Primary Care Trust said: "All three of the surgeries have now secured sufficient vaccines from alternative suppliers."
