A CAT charity in Wiltshire is looking for a car-driving volunteer to spearhead its rescue and re-homing work.

Cats Action Trust North and West Wilts needs a new co-ordinator after its last one retired.

The charity, which has been caring for vulnerable cats and kittens for over 30 years, says the job is pivotal to its work.

The post is home-based and requires considerable use of the telephone, from answering queries to finding foster homes and dealing with emergencies.

Charity spokesman Pauline Thelwell said: "The group operates a seven-day-a-week service and our members are always on call. The trust is prepared to operate the co-ordinator post on a rota basis and all holidays will be honoured.

"The ideal person will be a car owner/driver with a knowledge and love of cats and who has the time to spare to devote to the cause."
