HOW sad we were to read the letter from M Johnston (Tuesday) concerning us moving to Marlborough Road.
What century are you living in? Look out the window and you will find there is a doctors' surgery, at least one retirement home, a home for the mentally challenged, a hotel and 700 houses with lots of children and parents with lots of cars who will wish to use all the facilities on offer.
The deeds of nearly all the older houses in Old Town have the same covenants written in them, they were done a long time ago by a few people who owned most of Swindon.
The house Edwin Bradley built for his family and lived in for many years in Okus Road has been our nursery for the last eight years. Why is it no one came knocking at our door informing us we were trading in a residential house, which had been an office for computers before us?
So, M Johnston, close all your doors and windows, draw the curtains, wear ear muffs, there may be a child in a garden near you, or a dog barking and we would hate to think you were in distress.
