CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 14 homes on the site of a former Co-op in Highworth will be discussed tomorrow (Tuesday). Concerned residents are expected to attend the meeting of the town council's planning committee to protest at the plans by Linder Homes.

They fear the properties on the site of the old Oxford, Swindon and Gloucester Co-op in Glebe Place will be too imposing and are worried about their privacy.

The store closed when the new £4.5 million Co-op supermarket-cum-library complex opened in Brewery Street last year.

It was demolished several months ago.

The meeting starts at 7pm in the town council chamber in High Street.

The council's views will be taken into account when the plans are eventually determined by Swindon Council planners.
