A PUSH to take Swindon Cares over the £30,000 mark has been launched.

This year's fundraising campaign saw speed dating, quizzes, a football tournament and concerts in aid of the charity, which donates money to local good causes.

It raised more than £20,000 during the summer and there are high hopes that this year's Christmas card could net a further £20,000, which all go towards good causes, namely the Swindon Cancer Appeal, Age Concern Swindon, GWR Community Trust and the NSPCC.

The beautiful card, called Zoe the Angel was designed and drawn by six-year-old Megan Stapleton, of Covingham Park Infants School.

It has been printed by Stratton St Margaret firm Europrint, and managing director Clifford Gray said: "All the money raised by the cards is going to Swindon Cares none is going to the printers.

"It's made out of recycled material, and we can also incorporate Zoe the Angel into other card designs, if businesses want to use their own logos."

So far 50,000 cards have been printed, and the first batch has been delivered.

The cards are available from the Evening Advertiser, Victoria Road, Old Town; Europrint, Pigeon House Lane, Stratton; BBC Radio Swindon, Prospect Place, Old Town; Swindon Chamber, Cricklade Court, Old Town; Infinitely Better in the Brunel Centre; Asda WalMart at the Orbital shopping centre in north Swindon and Arkell's brewery in Stratton St Margaret. The suggested donation is £2.
