POLICE forensic teams have searched several addresses in Swindon as part of an investigation into the murder of Mick Love.

Officers targeted a number of areas including Emlyn Square, New Town, and North Street in Old Town.

Police spokesman Alvina Kumar said she could not release details about what was found.

"In a complex inquiry of this nature, it is an integral part of the investigation process for officers to carry out searches in pursuit of evidence or other relevant information," she said.

"For operational reasons we are not able to divulge the outcome of searches carried out to date."

The move comes after police released a second man they had been quizzing over the murder.

He was arrested on Monday and taken to Westlea Police Station but has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

It is believed officers made the arrest after following up clues gathered during an early morning check in Victoria Road.

Another man, who was taken in for questioning last Friday, was later released without charge.

Mr Love, 40, of Prospect Place, was stabbed to death after a night out with friends during what police believe was a robbery that went tragically wrong.

His body was found in Cannon Street at the junction with Victoria Road at 5.19am last Monday.

Messages of condolence have flooded in for the father-of-two and floral tributes have been left at the murder scene.

A poster, appealing for people to come forward with information, has been left near the flowers.

Other posters, which were designed in partnership with the police, have gone up in Old Town.

Letters, which have been translated into Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish and Somali, have been printed in a bid to reach non-English speaking residents who may have witnessed an argument or a fight.

Police are also searching for what they believe is a key witness and have released a CCTV image of a man they want to hear from.

He was walking down Victoria Road at about 3.38am last Monday, about the time the murder may have occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Swindon Police on 01793 528111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
