CHIPPENHAM Town stemmed their mini crisis with a sturdy 2-0 win at Solihull Borough.
After two league defeats and a woeful loss to Lymington in the FA Cup, the pressure was on the Bluebirds to deliver and they did so to move level on points with leaders Halesowen at the top of the table.
Steve White's men always looked the more likely winners, even in a goalless first period in which Gary Thorne and Martin Paul both headed over and Gary Horgan and Thorne (pictured) were denied from range.
The breakthrough arrived midway through the second half when James Constable chested Wayne Thorne's pass into the path of Horgan who fired a shot across the Solihull keeper and into the far corner.
It was his second goal in as many games after nearly two years without his name on the scoresheet.
The points were secured eight minutes later when Ellis Wilmot's corner was cleared as far as Scott Walker and his strike was deflected in via Gary Thorne.
