POLICE are advising householders to treat doorstep salespeople with caution following a spate of complaints about people offering security equipment.
The warning has gone out around the county after it emerged that some doorstep sellers have been claiming their products are approved by the police.
The Wiltshire Force does not endorse products or companies and is urging potential customers to thoroughly check the identities of all callers and put the chain on the front door. Crime prevention advice is available from Swindon police on 01793 528111.
