Trading Standards officers are warning Swindon residents to be on their guard for over persistent door to door sales people.
They say they have received a number of complaints about about pushy sales people from companies and suppliers knocking on doors in Swin-don.
And they say that these sales people are so keen to increase their commission that they will use hard sell or dishonest tactics to persuade residents to sign.
The advice they have given is to avoid the following tricks signing a contract that is supposed to be a request for new information but is actually a financial commit-ment.
Advice can be obtained by ringing the Trading Standards Consumer Advice Service on 01793 525 387.
