Chippenham face a team in turmoil on Saturday as they make the long journey to manager less Kings Lynn.

Lynn boss Darren Booth left the club seven weeks ago and reserve manager Robert Taylor took charge of the first team. Taylor has now decided to drop first team duties after not being given full control of the squad.

He said: "I'm not going to be at the club and be their scapegoat. I have been told that I have to manage with the players that I have got. If I was allowed to bring in my own players it would be a different story."

Taylor found his job difficult, as he was still the manager of the reserves. He said: "I still had to go and see the reserves during the week, I can't manage two teams."

The manager feels that his players are not performing to the best of their ability. He said: "I feel I have been let down by the players and the club. The players are not performing and I think they need to get someone else in to do the manager's job."

Taylor explained what he would like to do with the club.

"The players are not producing the results. I want to bring in new players that want to play and win games for Kings Lynn Football Club."

Lynn, who were title favourites at the beginning of the season, are now second from bottom in Southern Premier League and if results do not improve, they will struggle to avoid relegation.

The team from Norfolk had a great start to their campaign. They were away to Team Bath on the opening day of the season and beat them 5-0 and then won their first home game 2-0 against Bedford.

Then things started to go wrong and they lost eight of the last 11 games including a 5-1 away defeat to Merthyr Tydfil and a 4-1 defeat to Dunstable. Last Saturday they fell into the relegation zone with a 3-2 defeat away to Banbury. The result was too much for Taylor to take and he decided to abandon the first team.

Kings Lynn do have some things going right for them. Their squad is totally injury free before Saturday's game.

Chippenham will still have to watch out for their star striker Dave Staff, who is on loan from Boston United. They also boast a few ex-league players. Defender Mark Burrows, who used to play for Exeter City and Coventry, is a definite starter.

Ex-Sunderland, Bradford and Middlesborough midfielder Craig Fishlock will also be a threat.
