Last week's Gazette carried a report about a chap in Market Lavington who is having to find £5,000 to pay fines and court costs.

This dastardly super-villain had committed the heinous crime of running his car repair business outside permitted hours. Perhaps he and society would be better served if he stole from shops, assaulted a police officer and burgled houses. To judge from another account in the same issue, he'd only have got a year's probation for that.
