Dean PeverleyONE of the victims scarred by the brutal violence of Colin Cooke has spoken of his anger after the thug received just three years for kidnapping and assaulting Craig Dyer bringing his total sentence to 11 years.

Dean Peverley, 29, pictured right, needed life-saving surgery and has to take pills for the rest of his life after being attacked by Cooke and two other men in the Kings Arms pub in Trowbridge last April.

Cooke, who was jailed for eight years for that attack was sentenced to a further three years on Friday for kidnapping and assaulting 31-year-old Craig Dyer.

Mr Peverley said: "It sends out a message to people who want to kidnap someone that they will only get two or three years for doing it. It makes me so angry."

Mr Peverley lost his spleen and most of his pancreas as a result of the attack.

When sentencing Cooke at Swindon Crown Court Judge Tom Longbotham considered the totality of the term Cooke should serve for the attacks on both men.

Mr Peverley said: "He should have got at least 12 years. What he did to me was nothing to do with the other case and he should have got what he would have if my case had never happened.

"I have got my justice but I feel really sorry for this other bloke and the next bloke who comes across Colin Cooke."

Mr Peverley now just wants to get on with the rest of his life.

"I won't forgive them but I will forget about it. I am enjoying my life now and I won't let what happened to me ruin it," he said.
