A 20-year-old, let's call him Harry, gets drunk. As he leaves the pub someone takes his photo. Harry goes over to the man, uses a lot of bad language then assaults him causing actual bodily harm.

The press would call him a lager lout. Why should the title 'Prince' make a difference? Remember when John Prescott, for whom I have little time, acted in a similar way, but in self defence, the media called him a thug.

No one is, or should be, above the law. If Prince Harry is not charged then it proves the law no longer exists.

And what message does that send to the average 20 year old walking home from the pub tonight?
