Runners-up Ferndale Rodbourne ended their season with a 1-1 draw at home against third-placed Greenmeadow.

With the final places decided in the week, the two sides could have taken it easy, but a few early tough tackles showed both sides were up for the game.

With end-to-end football the game was very even until a 20-yard strike from Carl Merchant deceived the Ferndale keeper and hit the top corner. Greenmeadow then pressed forward with confidence and only some good defending from Ferndale prevented them going further ahead.

Greenmeadow's defence, marshalled well by man of the match Jack Gilder, also had work to do to prevent the speedy Ferndale attacks.

After a great first half, the second was just as lively, with end-to-end football. Greenmeadow central midfield player Liam Puffitt was outstanding and went close twice with long range efforts.

All Ferndale efforts paid off after some sloppy defending from Greenmeadow left an easy tap-in at the back post for Callum Parsons.

With the game ending 1-1 both teams and supporters enjoyed a great game of football. Greenmeadow can now look forward to a cup final date next week with Robins.

Ferndale Rodbourne had won 6-1 in midweek against Westbrook A, Liam Gallagher (2), Jack Allan (2), Angelo Caruso and Jake Johns with the goals.
