GAZETTE & HERALD: CALNE Pet Club held its first meeting on Saturday after being set up by a woman with a passion for animals.
Teresa Harding said she heard so many horror stories about animal welfare that she decided to set up the club to educate people on their pets.
After the introductory meeting, which was held on Saturday afternoon, subsequent meetings will be held every other Sunday between 3pm and 5pm at The Conservative Club, Church Street.
Mrs Harding said: "There will be lots of different tables allocated to information on various animals, sanctuaries and job opportunities.
"But I must stress this is not a club for people to bring their animals to."
