15946/6MEMBERS of Devizes Chamber of Commerce will get into Edwardian gear for their forthcoming centenary celebrations.
The chamber, which represents traders and other businesses in the town, will celebrate its 100th birthday with a ball on June 24.
Guests are requested to come in formal Edwardian dress for
dinner in a specially erected
marquee at Devizes Sports Club. After dinner there will be dancing to late 20th century music in the sports club.
Chamber chairman Jo Batchelor said: "We have been planning this event for some time and are looking forward to it very much. We hope as many past presidents and members of the chamber as possible will be able to attend."
Booking starts in the first week of May. The chamber is directing inquiries for costume hire to the Wharf Theatre. Those wishing to dress for the occasion should contact Carol Wells on (01380) 721850 or Elaine Beale on (01249) 814910.
