I AM delighted that the £150 million upgrade to the town centre has fallen through. I enjoy going into Swindon shopping centre most Saturdays, and bumping into friends. The idea of a big American style mall with canned air and shops from national chains was just awful. We need more diverse small shops and cafes like in Havelock Street.
