GAZETTE & HERALD: The pavements in the Causeway, Chippenham, could soon be improved to make them safer and more convenient for pedestrians.

Wiltshire County Council has asked consultants Mouchel Parkman to develop and improvement scheme along the length of the Causeway and members of the public are invited to make their views known about two options on offer.

The first involves widening the footpath to two metres at its narrowest points. The second option involves widening the footpath along the complete length of the Causeway by reducing the carriageway width, and a priority give-way would be introduced. Build-outs would also be needed.

The first option is cheaper but would not slow traffic. The second option is more expensive, but could cause congestion. E-mail your views to anette.link@mouchelparkman.com
