Debbie Wickham, of Stepping Stones which benefited from the charity cash raised at the opening, with owners Paul Silk, manager Cheryl Spirit and staffHAIR Like Silk won the trade race to be the first shop to open on a west Wiltshire housing estate.
The hair and beauty salon, run by Paul Silk and Cheryl Spirit, opened on Tuesday evening on the Leigh Park estate, Westbury, with more than 300 guests attending its launch party.
The salon was opened by Stepping Stones team leader Debbie Wickham
and fundraising during the evening raised £200 for the pre school, which provides therapy and support for children with special needs.
It was a race against time for co owner Mr Silk to finish the salon in time.
He said: "We set a date for the opening and had to work 18 hours a day
to finish to project on time but it was all worthwhile. Everyone enjoyed
the evening and it was rewarding to raise so much money for Stepping Stones."
The shop is in a complex of seven premises. Hair Like Silk is the first business to open, followed by Tesco Express, which is due to open on Monday."
