ADS Building Contractors, of Wootton Bassett, has been awarded the Investors In People standard.
The firm believes it is one of the first building companies in the area to achieve this standard and it says it wants to dispel the poor reputation of the industry.
The company works closely with the Construction Industry Training Board to ensure its employees are trained in the skills of individual trades and in health and safety awareness.
Investors In People has helped to introduce a more structured approach, with job chats, training records, improved communications and business planning.
ADS managing director Alan Smith said: "Our business is all about people.
"The knowledge we have gained from achieving and maintaining the Investors In People award will undoubtedly add considerably to our clients' peace of mind, by ensuring that they receive the best possible service."
