Miles takes on the role of St George with Kate and Libby as damsels (30442/2)THE flags were out at the weekend as people across the county celebrated St George's Day.
At Staverton Primary School on Friday children aged from six-11 put on a concert and country dancing display. The evening, organised by the Friends of Staverton School, raised £70.
At Leapfrog Nursery School, in Bath Road, Chippenham, the youngsters got into the spirit of the day by dressing up and enjoying traditional English tea and scones.
On Saturday, St George's Day, on Saturday, sisters Averil Beresford and Sally Taylor and their family were in Trowbridge town centre handing out red silk roses they have been collecting throughout the year.
On Sunday hundreds of scouts assembled in Trowbridge to honour England's patron saint.
Altogether 15 Scout, Cub, Beaver and Brownie units marched from the town park to the United Church for a service and tsunami collection.
