AN Adam Nunn double helped Trowbridge Town recover from two goals down on Saturday to keep their slim championship hopes alive.

Needing a win to keep the pressure on leaders Shrivenham, the Bees were stunned when the visitors raced into a 3-1 lead just after half time. But Trowbridge refused to be beaten and fought back to seal what could be a valuable victory.

Andy Mackintosh's free kick put Cheltenham ahead on three minutes but Nunn curled another free kick into the top right corner to equalise.

Nunn then squandered a chance to give the hosts the lead before Mackintosh put his side back into the lead from close range on 36 minutes.

The visitors then made it 3-1 against the run of play after 58 minutes when Adam Sheppard fumbled a free kick and Stuart Mitchinson fired in the loose ball.

Trowbridge's response was immediate as Matt Cooper crossed for Daniel Barnes to score with a diving header and a minute later Cooper equalised with a low shot following a driving run.

Nunn then forced the ball into the net from 10 yards out on 75 minutes to give Trowbridge the lead for the first time.

Dave Mitchell, Dan Lardner and Adam Glover all came on as substitutes towards the end and Mitchelll added the fifth with a header from close range after Dave Percival's header had been saved.
