BATH RUGBY: BATH can wrap up a play-off spot tomorrow but could find themselves merely among the supporting cast in a Zurich Premiership relegation thriller.

Leeds Tykes are the visitors to the Rec (3pm), the Yorkshire side also chasing a win to totally secure their top-flight status.

Harlequins are the side in the biggest danger.

They must beat Sale Sharks to stay up, unless they secure two losing bonus points or a draw and Worcester gain nothing against Northampton, who also need a victory to ensure their own safety.

London Irish, who are at Newcastle, could also be dragged into it.

Meanwhile, Bath could still be overhauled by Sale, Saracens or Gloucester for third spot if they lose to Leeds.

Their England prop Matt Stevens faces a race against time to be fit before the Lions' departure date of May 25.

Stevens suffered a knee injury during the victory over London Irish last weekend, which has now been diagnosed as a grade one posterior cruciate-ligament strain.

The verdict was delivered by London-based knee specialist Andy Williams yesterday, although Bath believe Stevens could be close to full fitness when the Lions tackle Argentina in a pre-tour game at the Millennium Stadium on May 23.

The Tykes match could also be Bath captain Jonathan Humphreys' last at the Rec, with the former Wales skipper rumoured to be stepping into a coaching role next season.

Mike Tindall could sign off his Bath career with a place on the bench.

The centre is moving to Gloucester in the summer.
